Kids in elementary school are eager to learn. At school they are learning to read and reading to learn. In Route 252 they are learning to read the Bible and reading to learn about God. But that’s not all! They engage in relationships with adults who model what a relationship with Christ looks like and lead them in discipleship. With peers, they pray for one another, serve alongside one another, and learn together what it means to follow Christ in a fallen world.

In Fuel, Route 252’s Sunday ministry for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade, kids are “fueled up” for the week as they study God’s One Big Story – the Bible – using The Gospel Project curriculum. At 9am kids attend a large group time of worship and Bible study then divide into grade-level classes for hands-on application activities, prayer, and relationship-building. At 10:45am kids engage in a rotation of fun activities. Designed to complement the 9am format, kids participate in Narration Station (Bible Study), Animation Station (Games), and Imagination Station (Crafts, Cooking, Science) weekly.  Whether kids attend both services or just one, they will have a complete experience and lesson, but we hope they’ll stay for both!

On Wednesdays during the school year from 6:30-8pm, kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade can attend Sparks and kids in 3rd through 4th grade can attend Truth & Training (T&T). Using the Awana Clubs curriculum kids engage in fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love and serve Christ. High energy songs, Bible story time, memory verses and gym time make Sparks the perfect place for your Kindergarten through 2nd grader to learn more about Jesus. The T&T curriculum engages kids by answering their questions about God and the Bible. Kids have a Bible study to do at home, then come to mid-week for a large group lesson related to the study and small group discussion. Kids also participate in Tracks, 4-5 week hands-on classes designed to appeal to a variety of interests and learning styles including Cooking, Dance, Games, Model Railroading, Drama, Juggling, and more! Kids can join this mid-week ministry at any time during the year.
